Our UK and Australia CEO, Brett Lovegrove has just returned from his latest trip to the Adelaide office and also travelled over to Canberra to have a series of meetings with Federal government departments. As you would guess, Australia’s man-made and natural disasters are different to the UK’s and so their focus is mainly on weather, bush fires, mining and the resilience of their infrastructure that stretches across the country. South Australia was most recently affected by a wide-scale power outage that really impacted on all community, business and government sectors.
In addition to Brett delivering two lectures on ‘Crisis Leadership’ to audiences covering all three of those sectors in Adelaide and Canberra, he met with the South Australia police service, the South Australia Fire and Emergency Services Commission, the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, the Attorney General’s Office, Emergency Management Australia and the National Security Division. A common theme was for all those entities to continue to develop new partnerships that build upon their already mature programmes and, under the stewardship of Professor Paul Arbon at Flinders University, CSARN Australia will provide support in helping the State and Federal stakeholders to achieve their engagement strategies.
